ICoLSI44 (44th International Conference of Linguistic Society of India)

Conference URL: https://sites.google.com/view/icolsi-44/icolsi-44 We are delighted to announce that the Department of English, Centurion University of Technology and Management, Odisha, India, will host the 44th International Conference of the Linguistic Society of India (ICoLSI-44) from November 24 to 26, 2022, at its Bhubaneswar campus located in Jatni (Khurda Road) jointly with the Linguistic Society of India, Pune. This will be the first time that the ICoLSI will take place in the state of Odisha. Abstracts are invited for oral and poster presentations on original and unpublished research on any area of relevance to linguistics. There would also be two special sessions on Classical Odia language, Literature, Translation, History, Palaeontology, Culture & Heritage. Please note that the conference will be held only in physical mode. The list of Topics includes, but are not limited to, the following: (a) Descriptive Linguistics (b) Phonetics, Phonology & Morphology (c) Syntax & Semantics (d) Pragmatics & Stylistics (e) Historical & Comparative Linguistics (f) Language Contact & Change (g) Language & Linguistic Typology (h) Computational Linguistics, & NLP (i) Sociolinguistics (j) National Education Policy, and Language Policy & Planning (k) Mother Tongue Education (l) Language Teaching & Testing (m) Linguistic Landscape, Socio-Semiotics & Media Studies (n) Endangered Languages & lesser-known languages (o) Language Revitalisation & Language Documentation (p) AI, & Corpus Linguistics (q) Translation Theory & Practice (r) Cognitive & Psycho Linguistics (s) Media Studies & Discourse Analysis (t) Linguistic Ecology and Palaeontology (u) Forensic Linguistics (v) Linguistic Impropriety & Field Linguistics Ethics (w) All Mother Tongues of Odisha (x) Indian Classical Languages, Literature, Culture, Heritage & Epigraphy (with reference to Odia) Submissions in other relevant areas interfacing with the topic mentioned above are also welcome. Please note that only one single-authored and/or co-authored paper(s) per participant will be permitted to encourage larger participation and a fair opportunity for all. Special Sessions on Odia: If you are submitting a paper to the Odia special session, please indicate so. Abstracts for these sessions can be written in Odia or English. For Abstracts in Odia, please use open-source Unicode or ‘Kalinga’ font while submitting your Abstracts/Papers. An English translation may also be provided for the same. Awards* (a) Prof. D. P. Pattanayak Award: For the best student paper in the conference in the area of Applied Linguistics. (b) Prof. Bh. Krishnamurti Award: For the best student paper in the conference in the area other than Applied Linguistics. * Please note that the interested students may send their full paper to the organisers on or before 5th October 2022. Abstract Submission Guidelines ➡️ Submissions that fail to comply with any of the following guidelines will be automatically stand rejected. ➡️ Anonymize submissions by not including author name(s) in the abstract or filename to allow blind review. ➡️ Restrict submissions to one individual and one joint abstract per author, or two joint abstracts per author. ➡️ Submit abstracts in .docx/.doc format with the filename “Paper_Title.docx”. ➡️ Include the paper title and keywords (i.e., Track/Theme under session or title if applicable, linguistic subfield(s), language(s)/language family) within the Abstract. ➡️ Limit Abstract (not exceeding 300 words) to one and half pages in length, including data and references (just select references are acceptable). Use one-inch margins and a font size no smaller than 11 points. Incorporate data into the main text of the abstract, not on a separate page. ➡️ A Word file consisting of the name and affiliation of the author(s) must be sent as a separate file. |
