Description:

The Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures of the University ofPittsburgh seeks one full-time, one-year contract (renewable) assistantinstructor for the Chinese language program, for appointment beginningSeptember 1, 2011, pending budgetary approval. Successful candidate shouldpossess native or near-native proficiency in both Chinese and English, holdan MA degree in foreign language pedagogy or a related field, and have atleast two years of experience teaching Chinese at North Americanuniversities or colleges. Preference will be given to candidates whopossess linguistic knowledge of Chinese language, and demonstratefamiliarity with CFL methodologies. Duties include teaching Chinese at alllevels, as well as working closely with the language coordinator tocontribute to the overall effectiveness of the Chinese language program.
