Meeting Description:

The purpose of the conference is to draw together, under one roof, the stakeholders, academics and teachers in the Saudi prep-year English programmes to exchange experiences, challenge current practice, discuss best practice and suggest future direction. It is hoped that the papers presented, by both international speakers and national academics will inform, challenge, and prove to be a catalyst for development in the English Language Centres in Saudi Arabia.

Call for Papers:

Paper submissions should be submitted through the automatic paper submission procedure using the 'Easychair' paper submission system:

We invite the submission of full-length papers (of between 5000 and 8000 words, including an abstract, but excluding references), which have not been previously published and which are strongly related to the main theme of the conference, falling under any one, or a combination of, the following sub-themes:

-General English, EAP and ESP in colleges and universities (e.g. interface between general and academic English, CLIL, team teaching)-Teachers education (e.g. Qualifications, native speaker and non-native speaker, classroom observation, PD training)-E-learning integration and development (e.g. experiences with blended learning, online skills development, virtual classroom implementation)-Curricula, testing and external benchmarking (e.g. placement testing, formative / summative assessment, external verification, portfolios)-Saudi learner issues (e.g. linguistic, motivational, learner style, support mechanisms)-The school-prep-year interface (curricula and levels, expectations, teaching styles)-Language skill development and its implications for curricula, testing and materials

Accepted papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings, and should be submitted in APA style format (see http://www.apastyle.org/ for more details)

You will receive an automatic submission acknowledgement, upon successful submission of your paper. You will receive email notification on the status of your paper on Feb 16th. If your paper is accepted you will be requested to provide a brief Biodata of 200 words by February 23rd.
