Description:

The Department of Linguistics at the Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf invites applications for a Lecturer in Computational Linguistics, to begin October 1, 2020. A secondary specialization in semantics and/or pragmatics is desirable, and demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: recurrent neural networks (NNR) for language models, distributional semantic modeling in vector spaces, (un)supervised machine learning, probabilistic approaches to NLP; moreover, training in empirical and experimental methods (text/corpus linguistics) is also welcome.

The successful candidate will conduct research in the domain of computational linguistics, participate in the preparation of grant proposals, and teach a limited number of classes at the BA, MA and PhD levels. While a good command of German is desirable, it is not essential.

The start date is October 1, 2020, and the initial appointment is until September 30, 2021 (with a possibility of an extension). Salary is on the German scale TV-L E13, %100.
