The ANU School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics seeks to appoint an Associate Professor/Professor of Linguistics to contribute to and enhance an ambitious, future-focused program. The appointee will be responsible for undertaking and fostering world-leading, high-impact research, including actively seeking and securing external funding to support major collaborative research initiatives. They will be an outstanding scholar whose research plays a role in shaping the future direction of language sciences, and who will lead this endeavour at the ANU.

Field of research is open, but we emphasise a focus on empirical research (fieldwork, corpus-, or lab-based), an interest in languages of the region, and demonstrated experience in both community engagement and in making connections with other disciplines.

The successful candidate will undertake leadership roles in the discipline of Linguistics, in the School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics, and in the College of Arts and Social Sciences, contributing cooperatively to the overall intellectual life and collegial workings of the discipline, School, College and University.
