On the Offensive

By Karen Stollznow

On the Offensive " This book sheds light on the derogatory phrases, insults, slurs, stereotypes, tropes and more that make up linguistic discrimination. Each chapter addresses a different area of prejudice: race and ethnicity; gender identity; sexuality; religion; health and disability; physical appearance; and age."

Description
Pacific Linguistics is a publisher specialising in linguistic descriptions, dictionaries, atlases, bibliographies and other materials concerned with languages of the Pacific, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Southeast Asia and minority languages of South and East Asia. We focus on data-oriented papers on little known languages in this region as well as on teaching materials in the region’s major lingua francas. We are also concerned to publish materials on endangered languages, and this is a major reason for the establishment of our Shorter Grammars imprint.
